Timing is everything isn't it?

These first two months of exciting new adventures along the mighty Mekong River have allowed us at Aqua Expeditions to perfect our program, including more time among the photogenic landscapes of rural Cambodia for our valued guests.

Our new 3 and 4 night itineraries offer excellent, leisurely opportunities to explore both Cambodia and Vietnam while making the vibrant cities of Saigon and/or Phnom Penh a convenient hub. They allow you time to relax and enjoy a reviving break in any South East Asia itinerary before continuing on to the region's rightly famous beaches, the cultural capitals of ancient Vietnam or the legendary temples of Cambodia.

Low water season means more riverside routes to explore on our touring bikes, deep into the idyllic island of Koh Oknha Tey, home to renowned Khmer silk weavers for generations, and past the striking stilted houses of Preah Prosop, a remote Cambodian village seemingly untouched by time. Days of wonderful weather in these early months of 2015 promise green paddy fields and clear blue skies for biking, walking and of course cruising.

Back on board the Mekong's first 5-star floating boutique hotel, Aqua Mekong guests are thoroughly enjoying all the features of this river's most spacious standard rooms, including our signature floor to ceiling river facing windows. Favorite shared spaces on the Aqua Mekong are proving to be the glass walled, fully air conditioned top floor Observation Deck, also an excellent spot to sip Mekong inspired cocktails and of course the elegant dining room where we serve the Khmer and Vietnamese influenced cuisine of our Executive Chef David Thompson, the world's top ranked Southeast Asian cuisine chef. In between riverside excursions by the Mekong's only private skiffs to Buddhist temples, romantic French colonial ruins and bustling Vietnamese food markets, our guests find plenty of time for aromatic treatments in our floating spa and to unwind around our top deck Mekong facing swimming pool.
