Partnering With Trek Travel to Offer Bike & River Cruise Sailings in 2017

Now they have added a way for travelers to curtail the impact of vacation dining excesses while seeing Europe in a much more intimate way. By teaming up with Trek Travel, an active vacation company specializing in luxury cycling vacations, Scenic is now proud to offer guests the opportunity to be more active, burn calories, and take in some of Europe’s most stunning scenery - from the seat of top-rated Trek bicycles.

 

        Guests on the seven-night Bike & River Cruise sailings will enjoy use of Trek Domaine 5.9 carbon road bikes on 15-60 mile explorations with daily route support and experienced bicycling guides - as well as all the luxuries and extensive inclusions already provided by Scenic. The nine May-Sept. departures are split between the Gems of the Danube, which sails between Budapest and Nuremberg, and Rhine Highlights, which runs between Amsterdam and Basel. Scenic fares are always fully-inclusive and start at $6,499 per person, double, for the Bike & River Cruise sailings.

 

        Gems of the Danube is a seven-night luxury cruise aboard the Scenic Amber. Cycling highlights include winding through the timbered hamlets of Furth and Erlangen, sampling local beers from the area which boats the highest density of breweries in the world, cycling through the vineyards of the Wachau Region, discovering Vienna’s most loved cycling routes including the heavily forested range of hills known as the Vienna Woods, and exploring the Budapest’s Buda hills, taking in the rich architecture on the historical west side. Examples of non-cycling tours include a walking tour of Cesky Krumlov or Salzburg, a Budapest city tour or thermal baths and spa experience and a Scenic-exclusive concert in Palais Liechtenstein. Prices start at $6,499 per person, double with departures on May 10, 22, 31, June 26, July 26 and Aug 30.

 

        Experience the epicurean and cultural delights of the Rhine River on the Rhine Highlights, cruising on the Scenic Jewel between Basel, Switzerland and Amsterdam. Visiting four countries, this trip stops at the major cities of Strasbourg, France, Koblenz and Cologne, Germany and Amsterdam. Highlights for bicyclists include cycling the Alsace wine route tasting Rieslings and Pinot Gris along the way, pedaling the beautiful Rhine Gorge with its castle and vineyard dotted landscape, discovering the bike trails of Cologne and a cheese tasting tour through Amsterdam’s countryside. Non-cycling tours include a Scenic-exclusive private tour and classical concert at the Baroque period Mannheim Palace, a “Sweet Tastes” tour of Heidelberg and a trip to the fairy tale town of Cochem â€" to name just a few. Priced from $6,599 per person, double, departures take place on June 12, Aug. 16 and Sept. 13.

 

        The 5-star Scenic Space-Ships offer all-inclusive luxury experiences - from private butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages and spirits including mini-bar re-stocked daily, to full-size private balcony staterooms â€" all making use of Scenic’s unique Sun Lounge technology â€" where the walkout open-air balcony can convert to an all-weather lounge with a push of a button, expanding the living area of the stateroom.
