A warm welcome: Britain is open and easier than ever to visit. The UK government has unveiled a new "living with Covid" plan and the highlights include: - Fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to test or quarantine after arrival into England, Scotland and Wales. (eff. Feb. 11).
- All COVID-19 restrictions in England have ended. Note: Scotland and Wales haven't removed restrictions yet (eff. Feb. 24).
- Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will no longer be legally required to self-isolate in England, however, it's recommended to avoid contact with others for at least five full days. Note: Self-isolation is still a requirement in Scotland and Wales.
New experiences: How about a rooftop afternoon tea in Liverpool? Take a hot air balloon ride at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta! Catch a performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Or maybe it's time to enjoy a Gin Safari experience while cycling in London! Unmissable events: The Queen's Platinum Jubilee (June 2-5) and 'Unboxed,' a UK-wide celebration of creativity just scratch the surface of festivals and events to enjoy all-year-round. Take Flight: Many airlines are reintroducing service or launching new routes to Great Britain: - JETBLUE recently launched JFK to London's Heathrow and Gatwick. Next up? Boston is set to launch this spring.
- AER LINGUS' new service connects JFK and Orlando to Manchester.
- VIRGIN ATLANTIC announced a new flight connecting Austin, Texas to London in May.
