SCENIC ECLIPSE CELEBRATES ITS CHRISTENING

Heralding in a new and exceptional era in ocean cruising, Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours celebrated the official Christening of Scenic Eclipse – the World's First Discovery Yacht^TM. Dame Helen Mirren joined us this past Tuesday at the Port of New York City for our Christening Ceremony as Scenic Eclipse prepares for her coming sailings.

We were honored to have Scenic Eclipse Godmother Dame Helen Mirren christen the ship and bestow the traditional blessing of safekeeping over all who sail on her. Joining this official naming ceremony were Scenic Group's co-owners, Glen and Karen Moroney, and over 350 global media, travel partners and special guests.

Academy Award winner Dame Helen Mirren christened Scenic Eclipse against the iconic NYC skyline on Pier 88. Dame Helen Mirren quoted during the ceremony on September 10, 2019: "I was thrilled to be invited to take on the role of Scenic Eclipse godmother, even more so now that I have stepped aboard and seen the level of design detail and technology that have gone into her creation."
