Key Milestone Reached for the World's Most Luxurious Discovery Yacht, Eclipse II Hollywood, FL, and Vancouver CA – The keel-laying ceremony for the newest ship in the Scenic Cruises fleet – Eclipse II – took place on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in the Maj 3 shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia. Sister ship to Scenic Eclipse, Scenic Eclipse II is the second coveted Discovery Yacht from Scenic Group in their ocean fleet and is due to launch in the Mediterranean in Quarter one of 2023. The exciting occasion was attended by Glen Moroney, owner and founder of Scenic Group, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, the Minister of Economy, Tomislav Ćorić, and the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure, Oleg Butkovic. Scenic Eclipse II is the first of five custom-built vessels to be delivered over the next six years in Croatia by MKM Yachts, Scenic Group's a wholly owned ship-building company, in partnership with Maj 3. As it did when Scenic Eclipse launched, the newest Discovery Yacht will continue to raise the benchmark within the ultra-luxury expedition cruising market as it navigates both polar and tropical regions. The yacht will be 551 feet long and 71 feet wide and accommodate 228 guests in six-star all-inclusive luxury (200 in polar regions). With an on-board staff-to-guest ratio of almost 1:1, there is an abundance of personal space to allow for social distancing and upwards of 10 intimate dining options.
